Oral Prescriptions

C-II Anabolic Steroids Emergency Maximum 5 Days None Must be received within 72 hours, must have "Authorization for Emergency Dispensing" on face, and must be attached to phone Rx.  If not received, the pharmacist must notify BCS within 7 days after dispensing, and notify DEA in writing ONYSRx - File in C-II file
C-II Emergency Maximum 5 Days None Must be received within 72 hours, must have "Authorization for Emergency Dispensing" on face, and must be attached to phone Rx.  If not received, the pharmacist must notify BCS within 7 days after dispensing, and notify DEA in writing ONYSRx - File in C-II file
C-III Up to 5 Days Supply None Must be received within 72 hours, may authorize up to 5 refills, must be attached to phone Rx, and write "Follow-up to oral order, Rx #xxx, oral order filled on --/--/--, written prescription received on --/--/--."  If not received, pharmacist must write on Rx "Written prescription not received," signature, and date.  If the written follow-up exactly covers the oral Rx and has refills - give the amount of refills, 5x/6 month rule applies from oral order date.  If the written follow-up differs from the original ans has refills on it - note on the oral order "written Rx not received" and fill the mailed Rx as a new or mail it back to the practitioner and request another. Regular Controlled Rx - File in C-III, C-IV, C-V file
